HSF Project:My project for this three-month stay at Harlem Studio is a growing tree, which I am developing simultaneously to the series of ink drawings entitled “The Black Swimming Pool.”
The tree has started as a game when I came to New York. The idea is to gather a series of visual “trip notes.” These images are recorded not in a traditional sketch-book , but rather on a wall of our studio. The tree is the container; the drawings, sketches, and objects are its fruits and its leaves.
This is a work in progress: every day I progressively add more and more elements untill the last day of my sojourn here. Only then, the work will be complete and then destroyed.
